British AS90 155mm self-propelled howitzer in service with Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade

Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade is currently using the AS90 artillery system in combat operations. There are also reports of the 116th Mechanised Brigade using the howitzers. In July 2023, at least 72 Ukrainian army personnel completed training on how to operate the artillery units in south-west England, according to the UK Ministry of Defence. 

Two AS90 guns are able to deliver a total payload of 261kg onto a single target in less than 10 seconds, according to the British Army. While an automated loading system enables the gun to fire with a burst rate of three rounds in fewer than ten seconds, an intense rate of six rounds a minute for three minutes and a sustained rate of two rounds a minute, as per an overview of the system by the British Army.
