Lockheed Martin delivers first Patriot PAC-3 MSE air defense missile systems to Poland

Lockheed Martin has delivered to Poland the first batch of Patriot PAC-3 MSE air defense missile systems.

With the delivery of Patriot PAC-3 MSE, the Polish armed forces will be equipped with one of the most modern air defense missile systems which is able to counter and defeat tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and drones.

In 2018, Poland signed a $4.75 billion contract with the United States to acquire the Patriot missile defense system. This was part of Poland's efforts to modernize its military and increase its defenses against potential threats.

The Patriot air defense system includes various components, including radar, launchers, and missiles, and is integrated with other air defense systems to provide a layered defense against a wide range of threats. The Patriot missile defense system is widely used by the United States and several of its allies and has a proven track record of effectiveness in combat situations.

The PAC-3 MSE (Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement) is an upgraded version of the Patriot missile defense system developed by Lockheed Martin. Compared to the previous PAC-3 missile, the PAC-3 MSE has a larger, more powerful dual-pulse solid rocket motor, as well as an improved guidance system that enables it to engage targets more effectively at longer ranges.
