Pentagon Sending Military Advisers and Sophisticated Air Defence to Israel

The Pentagon has sent military advisers to Israel and multiple sophisticated air defence systems. The US advisers will not be engaging in any fighting according to US officials. One of the officers tasked with advising Israel will be Marine Corps Lt Gen James Glynn who served in a high-profile role during the war in Iraq. On Monday, during a press briefing, National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby said the military officers who will be advising Israel "have experience that is appropriate to the sorts of operations that Israel is conducting”.
