A new domestically produced drone has been approved for use by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence (MoD).

As per today's (Wednesday's) MoD press statement, the organisation has given the green light for its armed forces to immediately use the new Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), which has been dubbed "The Black Widow."

The tactical-level drones can be flown by experienced operators either by day or night and can carry a bigger payload of explosives, as per the MoD statement. It said the UAS can be flown in First-Person View (FPV) mode.

It added that because it was comparatively cheap to produce, the drone was ideal for single-use combat missions to prosecute and destroy enemy targets.
