STV Group Will Deliver Advanced Mines To Czech Army
The Czech Army will receive SENTRY smart anti-tank mines that combine cutting-edge technology and safety.
STV GROUP, one of the leading companies in the Czech defence industry, has concluded a seven-year framework contract with the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic to supply the advanced SENTRY smart anti-tank mine system. The agreement was concluded based on winning a shortlisted tender. Depending on the needs of the Czech Army, the total volume of the contract may reach up to CZK 4.08 billion. The Army of the Czech Republic will take at least 10,000 of these advanced mines under the contract. This is a significant step which places the Czech Republic among several NATO countries with such an advanced mine defence system.
The SENTRY anti-tank system represents a revolutionary technology with the possibility of networking and remote control of individual mines. This system enables precise localisation, secure control and programming of minefields with high efficiency and encrypted communication. SENTRY mines are robust even in extreme conditions and can eliminate targeted types of armoured vehicles without endangering their troops.
STV GROUP cooperates on the project with the Finnish company Forcit Defence, which has extensive experience in the field of engineer ammunition. The cooperation also includes training of personnel and supply of training equipment. The system is fully compliant with the Ottawa Convention, which underlines its safe and responsible use.
