Ukrainian forces have just integrated Vezha, a new battlefield technology platform that streams live drone video footage into their combat system.

The Vezha battlefield video analytics platform will stream real-time live-feed video footage into its DELTA combat system. As per a recent press statement from the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD), the new capability "will increase the efficiency and accuracy of operations through better interaction and data exchange between drone crews, artillery, and command posts"  and "ensures the effective defeat of the enemy."

Vezha provides the Ukrainian military a technological advantage and eliminates any dependence on other services or third-party video platforms, which can often blocked by developers or the Russian authorities.

“With the help of Vezha, the military can analyze footage from hundreds of UAVs, identifying and categorizing over 4,000 intelligence targets every day. Voice communication, joint video decryption, and monitoring of the effectiveness of drone units allow our fighters to act quickly and inflict significant losses on the enemy,” Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development, commented on the integration.

The new version of the Vezha mobile app is integrated with Mission Control, the planning module for UAV use, and avoiding frequency interference with FPV drones.

Work is also ongoing to further broaden streaming capabilities to support thousands of concurrent live broadcasts, and to develop a system to automatically detect enemies in video footage even when camouflaged or hidden in dense woods.
