Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Lovelock
As a Junior officer Lt Col Lovelock served as a Platoon Commander in 5 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), a Troop Commander in 28 Engineer Regiment, Workshop Command with 12 Logistic Support Regiment, sequential Staff roles in Plans and Operations posts at Brigade and Divisional Level and undertook an Industrial Placement with British Aerospace as a programme engineer on the TERRIER Combat Engineer Tractor Programme. On promotion to Major he attended Intermediate Staff Training, following which he undertook a Staff role as a doctrine writer, followed by Sub Unit Command with 101 Battalion REME, Post Sub Unit Command he returned to 5 Force Support Battalion REME as the Battalion Second in Command. Promotion to Lt Col saw him undertake a short post as an SO1 in Army HQ within Directorate Resources followed by Advanced Staff Training and a period as a Procurement Programme Manager within the Soldier, Training and Special Projects Delivery Team, Defence Equipment and Support. After this he assumed Command of JFSp(ME) based in UAE, a unit supporting UK Operations in the Middle East before moving to his present post as SO1 Equipment Support, Futures Directorate, Army Headquarters, British Army.
Lt Col Lovelock is a Chartered Engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s in Business Administration and Master of Science in Systems Engineering.
