Lieutenant Colonel Allan Raidma took over as commander of the Artillery Battalion in 2022 after serving as Cheif of Staff of the mobile artillery battalion for 3 years. He has gone through all the positions of duty, from platoon commander to battalion commander.

The artillery battalion is the center of indirect fire skills and knowledge in the Estonian Defense Forces. The battalion offers professional continuing education for conscripts and active duty soldiers from both infantry brigades. The main task in wartime is to support infantry and armored units with indirect fire.
