Major Andrew Durfee

Assistant Product Manager - PdM Medium Caliber, US Army - JPEO Armaments and Ammunition

MAJ Andrew F. Durfee is currently assigned to JPEO Armaments and Ammunition and PM Maneuver Ammunition Systems, where he serves as the Assistant Product Manager (APM) for PdM Medium Caliber focusing on rapidly producing proximity munitions for a C-UAS solutions. In 2023, MAJ Durfee served as the APM for Terrain Shaping Obstacles, focusing on the rapid development of the XM 250 Top Attack Munition. MAJ Durfee was commissioned as an Army Infantry Officer after graduating from Officer Candidate School in 2013 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Middlebury College. After Commissioning, MAJ Durfee attended Infantry training at Fort Moore, GA where he completed the Basic Officer Leadership Course. After completing the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Moore, he attended the Sabalauski Air Assault School and earned his Expert Infantryman Badge. He is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA where he earned a master’s in systems Engineering Management and graduated from the Naval War College. Before transitioning to acquisitions MAJ Durfee served at Fort Bliss, TX and Fort Campbell, KY. He served as a Mechanized Infantry Platoon Leader and HHC Executive Officer while supporting the Army’s Network Integration Evaluation at Fort Bliss, TX. Following the Captains Career Course, he served as an assistant operations officer for 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Div, before assuming command of Higher Headquarters Company in the Anbar Province, Iraq. After transitioning to the Battalion Rear Detachment Commander, he assumed command of a Light Infantry Company in the 1-506th Infantry Battalion.

MAJ Durfee and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married for seven years and have two children: Riley (6) and Masen (3).

MAJ Durfee’s awards and decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (three oak leave clusters), Army Achievement Medal (two oak leave clusters), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, Army Service Ribbon, Air Assault Badge, and Expert Infantryman Badge.
