Colonel Bryan Mialkowsky
Col Mialkowsky worked as a civilian engineer for nine years prior to joining the Regular Force in 2001. Along with developing municipal infrastructure projects for northern First Nation communities and a subdivision development in the People’s Republic of China, he also served as a Reserve Non-Commission-Member and Officer with the North Saskatchewan Regiment from 1985 to 2001.
Post 9/11, Col Mialkowsky completed a component transfer to the Regular Force and became a Military Engineer. He has served with 1 and 2 Combat Engineer Regiments, 4 Engineer Support Regiment, 524 Specialist Team Royal Engineers on exchange with the United Kingdom, Executive Officer of the Base Construction Engineers for Canadian Forces Base Halifax, Executive Assistant to Chief of Staff Army Strategy, Acting Director Land Infrastructure as the Canadian Army’s strategic infrastructure planner and Task Force LATVIA Joint Engineer based in Riga, Latvia. Col Mialkowsky completed his Unit command appointment as Commanding Officer Real Property Operations Unit (RPOU(A)) from 2018 to 2021. Post command, Col Mialkowsky served as the C-IED Section Head for NATO Joint Forces Command Naples, before being posted to NATO Allied Land Command in Türkiye as ACOS GENG.
Col Mialkowsky has completed three overseas tours. His first tour was with the Royal Engineers to Iraq in 2005 and later with the same unit in Afghanistan in 2007. He returned to Afghanistan in 2010 as Officer Commanding the Canadian Task Force Engineer Construction Squadron. Col Mialkowsky took over as Land Command ACOS GENG in 2022.
Col Mialkowsky is married to Lynda, an ex-British army nurse that he met while on exchange in the UK.
