Colonel Yevhen Shamataliuk

Colonel Yevhen Shamatalyuk is a Ukrainian officer with extensive frontline experience since 2014. Military career began as a platoon commander in the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade, with continuous participation in combat operations from the early stages of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Sustained multiple combat injuries in 2014 during operations in Luhansk Region and the battles for Donetsk Airport, followed by return to active duty after recovery.

Over the years, held various command and staff positions, contributing to missions within the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and Joint Forces Operation (JFO). In 2022, graduated from the National Defense University of Ukraine with a specialization in military management, qualifying as an operational-level officer.

During the full-scale invasion, served as commander of the 1st Air Assault Battalion of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, later appointed Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander. Commanded the 79th Separate Air Assault Tavria Brigade between 2023 and 2024. In 2024, appointed Deputy Commander of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade.

Awarded the title Hero of Ukraine (Order of the Golden Star), the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (3rd Class), and the Cross of Merit.
