Daniel da Silva
Daniel da Silva is a Senior Technical Officer for Helicopter Logistic at Technical Support in the Helicopter Branch of the Aviation Support Programme at the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). He is still in active in the duty Portuguese Navy with the rank of Commander and currently posted in NSPA as seconded.
During his career, he covered various roles dealing with military helicopter front line maintenance, military UAVs and continued airworthiness, including direct support to international (EU/NATO) operations in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
Before joining NATO, he was responsible for In-Service Support and Upgrades for the Naval Helicopters of the Portuguese Navy, technically managing the introduction into service of VTOL and Small UAVs with associated CAMO responsibilities as Head of the Helicopter Division on the Ships Directorate from Portuguese Navy Material Superintendence.
Daniel Silva has 32 years of active duty holding a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Portuguese Naval Academy and, postgraduate with a Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering in the UK Royal Navy.
