Colonel Guillaume Humbert
Colonel Guillaume Humbert was born on August 24th, 1979 in Paris. After graduating from the French Military Academy at Saint-Cyr in 2002, he chose to serve as an Army Aviation officer.
On completion to the basic helicopter pilot course and the helicopter patrol leader course (2002-2004), he was posted to the 6th Combat Helicopter Regiment in Compiègne. He was deployed in Djibouti and Cote d’Ivoire. Promoted to captain, he assumed the command of an attack helicopter squadron at the 1st Combat Helicopter Regiment in Phalsbourg, deploying in Cote d’Ivoire and Lybia during Op Unified Protector.
In 2011, he was appointed to the Army Personnal Directorate as executive officer. Promoted to major, he was selected in 2014 to attend the War College in Paris. He was
then appointed to the HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in the UK as G5 planner (2015-2018).
Promoted to lieutenant-colonel, he joined the 3rd Combat Helicopter Regiment in Etain as chief of operations and instruction. And deployed twice in Mali on Op Barlkhane (2019-2020).
He was then posted to the Army Aviation Command in Villacoublay as chief of doctrine and prospective studies (2020-2023).
On promotion to colonel, he was designated to command the 2nd Combat Helicopter Regiment in Le Luc-en-Provence, in charge of training the pilots and engineers of the AAvn.
