Lieutenant Commander Jelle van Doom
LtCDR Jelle van Doorn (45) is an officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy. He grew up on the beaches near The Hague and joined the naval academy in 1997. After doing several jobs on board of navy ships he converted to a flying career in the Naval air Fleet flying the Westland Lynx as a tactical coordinator (TACCO). As a TACCO he served on several deployments varying from ASW to counter piracy operations near Africa to counter drugs operations in the Caribbean. In 2010 he converted to the Nh90 helicopter and continued with shipborne operations. After a three year stationing on the Island of Curacao he spent the last five years working on the future of maritime RW capabilities with main project the upcoming NH90 MLU.
Jelle van Doorn currently lives in the south of the Netherlands with his wife Maaike and has three kids.
