He joined the Belgian Armed Forces in 1985. After his graduation at the Royal Military Academy, he served in two Engineer Battalions (6 Gn & 1 Gn) in KOLN (Germany) where he successively occupied various functions, such as platoon commander of a Construction platoon and afterwards Company Commander.

In 1994, he joined the engineer school in JAMBES (Belgium) to become a CBRN-instructor. In 1998 he was 2IC of an independent Combat Engineer Coy (1 Cie Gn) in BURCHT.

After graduating the Senior Officers Candidate Course in 2001, he joined the Directorate General Human Resources Staff at BRUSSELS.

In 2006, he returned to an engineer battalion (11 Gn Bn) to serve first as Company Commander of the Combat Engineer Coy and then 03 years as the EXO of the battalion.

In 2010 he went back to Brussels to join the Directorate of Material Resources in the Infrastructure Division where he worked as synthesis officer till 2014.

In 2014 he became responsible for the personnel of the Directorate of Material Resources and the units till September 2016.

From 2016 till 2018 he assumed the Command of Camp BEVERLO the biggest training area of Belgium.

He was the G1 of Land Component from September 2018-till September 2019.

After this he went to HQ EUROCORPS in STRASBOURG (France) to work in ACOS G1 as deputy and as section chief of Plans/Org. In the same period, he was also the commanding officer of BEL Part EUROCORPS.

Since august 2022 he is ACOS Engineer of HQ EUROCORPS.
