Major Jonathan M. Thomas
MAJ Jonathan M. Thomas graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Geospatial Information Science and was commissioned as a Quartermaster officer in 2013. His first assignment was with the 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division where he served as a Maintenance Platoon Leader/Maintenance Control officer and Company Executive Officer. Following that assignment MAJ Thomas completed the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course.
After Captain’s Career Course, MAJ Thomas was assigned to 2nd ABCT, 3rd Infantry Division where he immediately took command of G Forward Support Company, 2-69 Armor Battalion. During this command he sustained the battalion as they completed their transition from a Light Infantry Battalion, into an Armored Battalion. MAJ Thomas then took Command of HHC, 3 rd Sustainment Brigade, 3 rd Infantry Division. He deployed his company to Camp Buehring, Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. His Battalion was responsible for theater level sustainment, managing air, land, and sea movements. While in Kuwait he changed out of command and assumed the role of Battalion Operations Officer.
MAJ Thomas was then assigned to the 3 rd United States Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) as the Assistant Regimental S4. In that role he synchronized logistics for operations that represented the Army to the Nation and the World. MAJ Thomas was then selected for transition to the Army’s Acquisitions Functional Area where he currently serves as an Assistant Product Manager for the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (PdM IVAS).
His awards and decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Soldier Badge, Senior Rated Jumpmaster Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge, Space Enabler Skill Identifier, Operational Contract Support Skill Identifier, and Italian Parachutist Badge.
