Luigi Fasano is Project Officer Emerging Land Technologies at the European Defence Agency (EDA) within the Research, Technology and Innovation Directorate. He has joined EDA in September 2021 as a seconded national expert from the Italian Ministry of Defence and, in this role, he is responsible for the preparation and management of innovative R&T collaborative projects in specific areas of the ground systems, among which those related to mobility, counter-mobility and force protection (such as C-IED and landmine clearance). Before the appointment at EDA, during his career as an officer of the Engineer Corps of the Italian Army, he was mainly involved in the definition, preparation, negotiation and
management of technologically advanced projects and contracts related to the land defence systems with a focus on communications, optoelectronics and remote controlled IED jammer.
