Career:
Graduated from National Defence University (NDU) in 1999 and University of Helsinki 2002 (MA, Finnish and Nordic History). Graduated from General Staff Officer course/NDU in 2011.

Branch: Mechanized Infantry
Wahlstein has served as an instructor, company commander and battalion commander in Infantry/Mech Inf units. Served also as a staff officer in battalion HQ, Brigade HQ, Army Command G5 and Ministry of Defence. Wahlstein has also served as Military History teacher in National Defence University. In his current position he has served since 2022. Posted as a principle lecturer in Department of Warfare/National Defence University Finland January 2025.
