Colonel Pete Skinsley OBE
Colonel Pete Skinsley commissioned into the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) in 1994. His early career included a series of appointments across transport, supply, petroleum and phase 2 soldier training, including the completion of the specialist Officers’ Petroleum Course in 1998. This was followed by Squadron Command in 4 Logistic Support Regiment and Regimental Command in 165 Port & Maritime Regiment. He has deployed on multiple operations in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.
His time within staff appointments has been spent in Brigade and Divisional headquarters and more recently at the operational and strategic levels in Army Headquarters, the UK Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) and Defence Equipment and Support. He was made an OBE in the King’s New Year’s Honours list 2023 for his efforts in PJHQ supported crisis operations globally throughout the COVID pandemic including Op FORTIS (Carrier Strike Group) and Op PITTING (Non-combatant evacuation of Kabul in 2021). He is currently the Deputy Head (Operations) in the MoD’s Operational Energy Authority as the UK Defence’s senior fuels and energy officer.
