Skralan Hosteaux obtained his PhD in Plasma-astrophysics in 2019 at the KU Leuven. After working as a systems engineer in satellite development, he is currently employed as a research engineer at the Hyperspectral Research Unit of the Royal Military Academy (RMA) of Belgium. His research aims to develop a method that combines hyperspectral imaging and machine learning models to assess jet engine health via remote measurement of the engine exhaust gasses.
