William Stanley
William Robert Stanley, Jr. (Bob) retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel after more than 30 years of service and began a second career as a Department of the Army Civilian. He has held positions as a financial analyst, Deputy to the Chief of Transportation, and Deputy to the President Army Logistics University. He is currently the Deputy Director of Logistics for Special Operations Command Africa, J4.
While in the Army, Mr. Stanley held a variety of command and staff positions. His assignments include Director, Logistics Exercise and Simulation Directorate, National Simulation Center; and Deputy Director of Logistics (J4), United States European Command. He also Commanded the 402nd Quartermaster Battalion. Mr. Stanley’s deployments include Operation Provide Hope and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Mr. Stanley’s military awards include Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (2), Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), and Meritorious Service Medal (5). He was the President’s Honor Graduate and Halsey Scholar at the Naval War College. He is a member of the Quartermaster Hall of Fame and the University of Missouri Industrial Engineering Hall of Fame. His civilian awards include the Superior Civilian Service Award and Meritorious Civilian Service Award (2).
