Joseph P. Cannon PhD
Joseph Cannon serves at the US Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC), as a Survivability and Protection Technical Expert. Dr. Cannon serves as the Chairman of the NATO Land Capability Group- Land Engagement as well as the Chair for the NATO Team of Experts for STANAG 4569 Protection Levels for Armored Vehicles
Joseph Cannon has served 21 years as a green tab combat leader at every echelon in a Light Infantry Battalion, to include Battalion Command. LTC Cannon has served two combat tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and on combat tour in support of Operation Spartan Shield/Freedom Sentinel. LTC Cannon is recipient of numerous awards and decorations to include the NATO ISAF Medal, Army Valorous Unit Award, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge and Basic Parachutist wings and Army Service Ribbon.
Dr. Cannon graduated from Michigan Technological University with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Cannon also holds a Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. Joseph is married to Amanda Cannon and has four children, Alexandra, Quinn, Rosalynn, and Russell.
