Professor Fabrizio Berizzi currently works at NATO DIANA as Challenge Manager of Sensing and Surveillance. His main role of responsibility is related to the definition the technological challenges in Sensing and Surveillance, select dual use innovative companies and coached them during the DIANA acceleration journey from intake to adoption. Currently he is responsible of Resilient Space Operation in DIANA.
Prior to this role, Prof Berizzi he has been:
1. Head of the Radar Laboratory of the University of Pisa for 15 years.
2. Director of the International PhD in Remote Sensing at the University of Pisa for 4 years
3. Director of the Radar and Surveillance System (RaSS) research laboratory of the CNIT (National Inter-university Consortium for Telecommunication) in Italy for 2 years
4. Project Officer of Electro-Optical Sensors Technologies (EOST) CapTech (Capability Technologies group), at the European Defence Agency (EDA) for 6 years.
Professor Berizzi is an expert on radar, optronics and acoustic sensors and he is strongly familiar with Artificial Intelligence, quantum technology (sensing, computing and communication, Biosensing, Cyber security, Energy & power grid, EW in different domains, space included.
He has published more than 100 publications on international journals, more than 170 publications to international conferences and authors and editors of the 6 books, mainly with CRC US press.
