ARX Robotics and Ukrainian defence technology firm Roboneers have signed a strategic partnership to develop unmanned ground systems together. The agreement was signed in Kyiv in the presence of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to [Source].
Joint development and integration
The deal commits both companies to deep technical integration of their systems, including joint development work. The two firms already supply ground drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In June 2026, they agreed to form a production joint venture, ARX Industries. It will build the Rys Pro unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) in series at sites in Ukraine and Germany.
Demand and production capacity
The Ukrainian government puts its 2026 demand for unmanned ground systems at 50,000 units. ARX Robotics already operates the largest Western-built ground drone fleet in the country, using its Gereon platform.
The company has also shown it can scale output quickly. It works with major German industrial partners, including Deutz, to produce large numbers of ground drones in a short time.
Lessons from the battlefield
ARX Robotics CEO Marc Wietfeld said software-defined unmanned systems are central to modern land forces, where the enemy can observe every action. He said the partnership will give Ukrainian forces a robust, smart UGV fleet at scale.
Wietfeld added that the partnership will also feed battlefield lessons into land system development for other Western armies.
