Brigadier General Mariusz Chmielewski is the Deputy Commander of the Cyber Command. A distinguished IT architect, researcher, and educator specializing in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and decision-support systems, he holds a Ph.D., earned with distinction in 2012, for his work on applying artificial intelligence and semantic analysis in crisis situation identification. His academic career spans over two decades at the Military University of Technology, where he served as an Assistant Professor the Faculty of Military Technology (2003– 2008), and at the Faculty of Cybernetics (2008–2017). From 2017 to 2020, he served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Cybernetics. He is also an accomplished educator, delivering courses in over 23 subjects related to software engineering, artificial intelligence, programming, and cybersecurity. Until 2021 he held key roles, such as Deputy Director of the National Cyberspace Security Center. He has also contributed significantly to the Ministry of National Defense through the development, implementation, and maintenance of both public and classified ICT systems. He has received over 100 prestigious awards from both national and international bodies for his contributions to, in particular, biomedicine and command support systems. Currently, he carries out experimental development projects, and conducts industrial research and studies in command support, computer simulation, and the application of artificial intelligence in biomedicine at the Faculty of Cybernetics, Military University of Technology. He graduated from the Military University of Technology with a degree in Computer Science (1998–2003) and Postgraduate Pedagogical Studies (2005–2006) and later completed Postgraduate Studies in Defense Policy at the War Art Academies (2021– 2022). With a career dedicated to advancing knowledge and practical applications in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, he remains a leading figure in the development of innovative technologies and methodologies for modern defense and civilian applications
