Personal Profile

Captain Dawson enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Engineer Officer in 2016. He attended the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2020.

Upon completion of his basic engineer officer training, Capt Dawson was posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in 2021, where he served as a Mechanized Troop Commander, Squadron Operations Officer and Squadron Second in Command. During this time, he deployed to Kuwait on Operation IMPACT as a Joint Operations Centre Duty Officer. In 2024, Capt Dawson was posted back to the Royal Military College of Canada where he completed the Army Technical Staff Officer Program through the Department of Applied Military Sciences. He currently serves at the Directorate of Land Requirements, where he is responsible for procuring the next generation of military bridging equipment for the Canadian Armed Forces.
