Joint Staff Engineer, Joint Staff Directorate for Logistics, US Joint Staff
Col D. Landon Phillips is the Engineering Division Chief for the Joint Staff Directorate for Logistics (J4), HQ Pentagon. He is responsible for the integration of engineering requirements into logistics planning and execution in support of joint operations to drive joint force readiness, maximize the Joint Force Commander’s freedom of action, and advise the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on engineering matters. Col Phillips was commissioned through ROTC in 1999 upon graduation from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He served as a Wing Commander, Mission Support Group Commander, and in a variety of base-level Civil Engineer and major command staff assignments to include Squadron, Detachment, Flight, and Company Commander assignments in garrison and deployed. He is a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician who deployed twice to Iraq, three times to Afghanistan and completed a short tour in Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was the Commander of the 501st Combat Support Wing in RAF Fairford, UK.
