Future Combat Command – Head of Lessons Learned Branch. French Army
Colonel Rémy Hémez, a combat engineer officer, is commanding the lessons learned branch of the Future Combat Command since July 2024. A graduate of Saint-Cyr, he commanded combat engineer platoon and company and participated in operations in Côte d’Ivoire and Lebanon. After serving in a division staff as a plans officer from 2010 to 2013, and being deployed as a liaison officer at CENTCOM for 6 months, he attended the Ecole de Guerre (War School). He then served as a military fellow for two years at the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) and, in 2017, took over as head of a prospective bureau. His career then led him back to an engineer regiment, as operations deputy from 2018 to 2020, during which time he was deployed to Iraq, as part of the CJTF, as deputy of the TF C-IED. In 2022, he took command of the 3rd Engineer Regiment with which he was engaged in operations in the Sahel.
