Daniel Du Plessis

Daniel du Plessis is the Vice President for Africa at Milkor, a leading South African defence company that designs and manufactures solutions across the air, land, sea, and cyber domains. He leads Milkor’s public engagement and messaging strategy, representing the company at major international defence exhibitions and in dialogue with government, and industry stakeholders. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, and brings a technical engineering foundation to his work in defence communications and business development within the African continent. He is a frequent commentator on the South African defence industrial base, having spoken publicly on the opportunities waiting to be unlocked by the South African Defence industry. Through his role, Du Plessis contributes to shaping the narrative around South Africa’s defence manufacturing sector — its export competitiveness, its innovation base, and its potential as a strategic partner to government in building national and regional security capacity.
