Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Ziegenfeldt serves as Deputy Brigade Commander of the 7th Mechanised Brigade in the Swedish Armed Forces. With operational and command experience, he has held key appointments at tactical and strategic levels, including battalion command, force development and headquarters staff functions. His operational background includes deployments to Kosovo (2001) as a platoon commander and Afghanistan both as a staff officer (2006) and as deputy company commander (2012-13).

Between 2016 and 2019, he commanded the 71st Motorised Battalion, followed by service at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters from 2019 to 2022. Lieutenant Colonel Ziegenfeldt has played a role in military transformation and experimentation, focusing on command and control, rapid capability development, mission command, and the integration of commercial technologies into military systems. He is currently engaged in pioneering brigade-level experimentation aimed at accelerating operational adaptation and strengthening interoperability within Nato. He is also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences.
