SO Future Studies Land and Doctrine development, Swedish Armed Forces
Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Eriksson currently serves at the Swedish Army Staff Development Department where he manages the Future Land Forces Studies.
Stefan Eriksson started his military career 1989 at the 18th Mechanized Brigade on Gotland as a mechanized infantry platoon leader, reconnaissance company commander and battalion S3 officer.
He was deployed to Kosovo as KFOR Swedish battalion S2 officer in 2000 and to Afghanistan as G2 officer in the ISAF Kabul Multinational Brigade in 2002.
From 2002 until 2015 Stefan Eriksson was posted to the Swedish Army Land Warfare Centre, during that time he held positions as head of Battalion CPX Training Facility, head of Captains Career Course and later on as head of Training Department.
Between 2015 – 2018 Lt Col Eriksson served as the Chief-of-Staff for the Skaraborg Mechanized Brigade in Skövde.
He then returned to the Land Warfare Centre to co-ordinate the development of the Swedish Army´s division and brigades’ organization and tactics.
Between 2021 and 2024 he served as Chief of Operations (G3) in the Swedish Division.
Lt Col Eriksson is the Swedish representative to NATO Land Operations Working Group and Senior Land Doctrine Panel.
