Personal Profile

Major General Ferdinant DIMO was born on 6 December 1964 in the southern city of Fier, Albania. He attended the military boarding school in 1984 and proceeded the higher military studies at the Military Academy, and in 1988 was commissioned a signal officer in the Albanian Army. In 1998 he enrolled to the Defense Academy and successfully completed the Basic Staff Officer Course which was a prelude to his promotion to major. In addition, he graduated from the Staff Officer Functional Course, Command and General Staff Course, Senior Officer Course as well as Senior Defense and Security Course.

As far as his military career is concerned, among myriad positions held in the army and the experience gained therein, the most noted are signal platoon leader, company and battalion commander, Director of J-5 Directorate at the General Staff, Deputy Commander of the Army, Commander of Logistics Command and recently Commander of the Air Force.

Furthermore, Majorgeneral Dimo has deployed to Kosova as part of the KFOR rotation in the position of Signal Chief.

Brigadier Dimo has an extensive experience in the realm of Signal Force and has further honed his professional abilities by getting a BA and MA from the University of Tirana, graduating as Electronic Engineer.

For his outstanding work, General Dimo has been awarded with medals and ribbons from the Chief of Defense, Minister of Defense and foreign dignitaries throughout his military career. He speaks fluent English.

Major General Dimo is married and has a daughter.
