Head of Aviation Capabilities Branch, French Army Special Operations Command
Major MULLIEZ currently serves as Head of the Aviation Capabilities Branch within the French Army Special Operations Forces (SOF) Command. He is a senior officer combining Army Aviation expertise and Special Ops experience.
He began his military career as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the Paratrooper Infantry Branch before graduating from the Combined Arms Military School and transitioning to French Army Aviation as a helicopter pilot. Assigned to the 1st Combat Helicopter Regiment, he initially flew the SA330 Puma before qualifying on the NH90, serving as a patrol leader prior to taking command of a utility helicopter squadron as a captain.
Following his operational command experience, he moved to a staff position within the 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment, where he was in charge of operational activities.
Throughout his career, he was deployed on several overseas operations.
Since a few months, within the Army Special Operation Forces Command he has been responsible for the development of both existing and future Army Aviation capabilities dedicated to special operations. His current focus is centered on two major strategic challenges : the integration into service of the new NH90 Standard 2 and the development of a Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capability aimed at enhancing SOF Army Aviation operational effectiveness.
