Nick left the Army in 2007 after a 19-year career commanding tanks that included 9 operational tours in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq. In his subsequent 18 year contracting career he has led project teams in studies including CSS C2, ISTAR, HQ Structures, Strike, armoured vehicle procurement, Live / Virtual / Constructive training blends and synthetics. Nick has authored or contributed to more than 75 reports for British Defence. Most recently, Nick led the British Army’s Urban Experiment, exploring and evidencing current and future Field Army urban capability to drive change, and since July 2022 has been Head of the British Army’s Urban Centre.
