L3Harris Technologies and ARX Robotics UK have demonstrated a passive drone-detection sensor mounted on an uncrewed ground vehicle. The trial took place during Project Convergence-Capstone 6, according to a recent press statement.
The CORVUS-RAVEN sensor detects signals linked to potential drone threats and relays bearing information to operators. Engineers mounted the system on ARX’s GEREON platform, allowing a remotely controlled vehicle to carry it into forward areas. Operators elsewhere in the battlespace then received the threat data.
Extending Situational Awareness
Small drones can approach from multiple directions at low altitude, creating threats across wide areas. Countering them requires sensors that operators can reposition as conditions change. Mounting CORVUS-RAVEN on the GEREON lets teams move passive sensing closer to likely threat approaches, without keeping personnel beside the equipment.
Built on open architecture, CORVUS-RAVEN generates messages compatible with the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), supporting integration with command-and-control systems. It also provides an integrated electronic defeat capability without needing a separate external system.

Industry Collaboration
The demonstration highlighted how modular hardware and open architectures can reduce integration barriers between established defence firms and emerging technology providers. Lessons from the trial will inform future development of counter-drone capabilities across robotic systems, according to L3Harris.
