Anduril Moves to Acquire ExoAnalytic Solutions in Space Domain Awareness Push

Defence technology firm Anduril Industries has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ExoAnalytic Solutions, a US national security company specialising in space domain awareness and missile defence. The deal will fold ExoAnalytic’s world-leading sensor network and analytical software into Anduril’s growing space portfolio.

A Contested Domain

Space is no longer a permissive environment. Military planners increasingly view low-Earth orbit to deep space as a warfighting domain — one that underpins the Joint Force’s ability to communicate, navigate, and deliver effects. Rival powers have invested heavily in counter-space capabilities, making persistent situational awareness a strategic imperative for the United States and its allies.

Anduril has pursued this mission through ground-based systems and on-orbit demonstrations. The company already supports the US Space Surveillance Network with resilient mesh networking solutions. The ExoAnalytic acquisition represents its most significant move yet in the sector.

What ExoAnalytic Brings

Founded nearly two decades ago, ExoAnalytic has built a strong reputation across classified national security space programmes. The company’s core strengths span three areas: modelling and simulation for government space customers, missile warning and missile defence software, and an operational commercial telescope network.

That telescope network stands out. ExoAnalytic owns and operates more than 400 systems deployed globally, making it the largest commercial network of its kind. The infrastructure delivers persistent, high-fidelity tracking of deep space objects at a scale no competitor currently matches, according to Anduril’s announcement.

Strategic Rationale

The integration targets a clear capability gap. Anduril brings software-defined autonomy, command and control architecture, and a track record of rapid fielding. ExoAnalytic contributes proven tracking algorithms, classified programme experience, and a global sensor footprint.

Together, Anduril says the combined entity will strengthen space domain awareness, battle management, and fire control — capabilities central to maintaining space superiority. The company intends to scale these tools for national security customers who require persistent, actionable data on orbital activity and missile threats.

The acquisition builds on an existing working relationship between the two firms. Anduril did not specify the nature of prior collaboration, but the pre-existing tie suggests integration risk is relatively low.

Terms and Timeline

Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal remains subject to standard closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. No timeline for completion was provided.

The acquisition places Anduril alongside established primes — including Northrop Grumman and L3Harris — that have long competed for space surveillance and missile defence contracts. For a company founded in 2017, the move signals serious intent to challenge incumbents in one of the Pentagon’s highest-priority mission areas.
