Anduril press release

A new office, expanding partnerships, and accelerated delivery of autonomous systems mark Anduril’s commitment to the defense of Taiwan

Anduril Industries is deepening its commitment to Taiwan, pairing near-term capability delivery with long-term investment and local partnerships. The rapid delivery of Altius loitering munitions, the establishment of our Taiwan branch office, and the expansion of collaboration with National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) and Taiwanese commercial partners underscore Anduril’s commitment to strengthen Taiwan’s security for today, while building lasting capacity for tomorrow. Anduril is committed to working with the US Government and Taiwan to continue delivering technology in operationally relevant timelines while laying the foundation for sustained engineering and production in Taiwan in the years ahead.

As threats to Taiwan grow, so do the risks to regional security and global prosperity. Ensuring Taiwan can defend itself with asymmetric, combat-effective capabilities is critical to American interests. Taiwan is making historic investments in its own defense, including through acquisition of autonomous precision strike platforms such as Altius.

Rapid Altius Delivery

Anduril delivered its first tranche of Altius loitering munitions and supporting capabilities to Taiwan this week in conjunction with a visit from Anduril Founder Palmer Luckey to the island. This milestone marks the first delivery of loitering munitions to Taiwan, and another step forward in Anduril’s in-country expansion.

Most foreign military sales programs take years to move from a contract signature to fielded capability. By contrast, Anduril built these Altius systems at financial risk, enabling initial delivery within six months of contract signature. This reflects the outcomes that are possible when FMS stakeholders collaborate closely to deliver advanced defense systems. The speed of delivery was made possible by collaboration across Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense and US government stakeholders, demonstrating what is possible when industry and government work together at commercial speeds.

“This is an enormously consequential moment for Anduril and for the free world,” said Palmer Luckey, founder of Anduril Industries. “We produced Altius at risk because Taiwan needs defense capabilities now, not years from now. Anduril is committed to supporting Taiwan and our allies across the Indo-Pacific with the technology they need to deter aggression and preserve stability.”
