CACI International has secured a three-year, $500 million contract to supply its SkyValor counter-drone system to Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), the company announced. The Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) award marks SkyValor’s move into full-rate production following successful operational evaluations.

JIATF-401 leads a national effort to defend US interests at home and abroad against fast-growing drone threats. Under the first task order, CACI will deliver SkyValor systems to critical mission locations across the country.

SkyValor detects, tracks and defeats hostile drones before they can threaten military operations. The system gives defenders early warning and more time to respond, according to CACI.

“Warfighters need a decisive advantage against drone threats that are faster, more accessible, and harder to detect,” commented John Mengucci, CACI President and CEO. He added that SkyValor’s long-range detection and precision defeat capabilities give defenders time to stop threats before they endanger forces, borders and infrastructure.

Marine Corps Air Station Yuma hosted the operational evaluations that preceded the award. JIATF-401 tested SkyValor’s ability to detect and defeat small drone threats beyond the line of sight. The system’s extended detection range gives operators minutes to respond, rather than the seconds typically offered by shorter-range counter-drone systems. JIATF-401 approved SkyValor for deployment based on these results.

The IDIQ follows an earlier contract awarded through JIATF-401’s Commercial Solutions Opening, covering four SkyValor units. That contract included a truck-mounted SkyValor variant, giving customers a mobile counter-drone capability deployable wherever threats emerge. SkyValor combines advanced sensing and automated defeat technology to counter hostile drones, including cellular-enabled models, as per a recent press statement.
