Northrop Grumman to Deliver Round-the-Clock Missile Defence Simulation for MDA

Northrop Grumman has secured a task order to supply advanced simulation and threat modelling tools supporting the US Missile Defense Agency’s round-the-clock operations, as per a recent press statement.

The contractor will deliver the work under the Modeling and Simulation Vistas – Threat and Advanced Simulation Development (MSV-TASD) task order, awarded through the Air Force’s Enterprise-Wide Agile Acquisition Contract. The two-year base award is worth $68.8 million, with five one-year options taking the total potential value to $606.5 million.

MSV-TASD succeeds the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract, under which Northrop Grumman supported MDA for nearly a decade. That earlier contract delivered simulation tools meeting the warfighter’s continuous operational and training demands.

The new task order builds on decades of modelling and simulation experience. Northrop Grumman will use this expertise to predict and simulate potential attack scenarios. This approach supports proactive capability development against an increasingly complex range of threats.

The company plans to draw on scalable, agile development methods and AI-enhanced tools. These aim to boost technical performance and reliability while cutting costs. Northrop Grumman says the approach also speeds delivery of mission-critical data to the warfighter.

Raymond Sharp, vice president of missile defence integration at Northrop Grumman, commented that MDA is moving quickly on ambitious plans. He added that the company remains committed to providing rapid, innovative and affordable solutions that strengthen the agency’s mission.

The award reflects the Pentagon’s continued investment in layered homeland missile defence. It also underscores the growing role of digital simulation in preparing forces against emerging missile threats.
