Savox Communications has signed a multi-year lifecycle support agreement covering the Savox IMP Intercom System used by the Swedish Armed Forces, according to the company.
The deal covers spare parts, repair services and development activities. Together, these aim to keep the installed communication systems available, effective and maintainable over the long term.
Lifecycle support in focus
The agreement reflects a wider trend in defence procurement. Armed forces now treat sustainment as a core part of capability, since mission-critical communication systems must stay reliable across extended service lives.
Savox Chief Executive Officer Jerry Kettunen said sustaining operational capability throughout a platform’s lifecycle is a critical requirement for defence organisations. He added that the agreement underlines the long-term nature of capability development. Repair services, spare parts and continuous development support, he said, keep communication capabilities aligned with future operational needs.
A modular, upgradeable platform
The Savox IMP Intercom System is a modular, fully digital communication platform. Savox developed it for demanding defence and public safety environments.
Its open architecture allows operators to integrate radios, communications equipment and mission systems. Customers can also add upgrades without replacing the entire system. This design supports obsolescence management and technology refreshes as operational requirements change.
Savox also offers technical support, maintenance, spare parts management and training under its lifecycle services. The company says these services help customers maximise readiness, extend service life and preserve the value of existing investments.
