BAE Systems and TUALCOM have signed a strategic agreement to explore advanced communications, navigation and electronic warfare technologies for future autonomous defence platforms, as per a recent press statement. The partnership targets customers in the UK, Türkiye and international markets.

Defence customers increasingly demand autonomous systems that can operate in contested and degraded environments. The collaboration will examine technologies that maintain reliable communications when conventional links and navigation are denied.

Dave Holmes, Managing Director of BAE Systems’ FalconWorks division, commented: “Future autonomous capability will depend not only on advanced aircraft, but on the resilience of the systems that enable them to sense, communicate and make decisions in increasingly contested environments.” He added that the collaboration would combine complementary expertise to accelerate sovereign, exportable technologies for customers.

Ali Pastonoglu, Chief Executive Officer of TUALCOM, commented that the company has invested significantly in RF communications, assured navigation and electronic warfare technologies built for demanding operational conditions. He added that working with BAE Systems creates an opportunity to combine strengths and accelerate innovation for next-generation autonomous defence systems.

The partnership reflects the deepening strategic relationship between the UK and Türkiye in advanced aerospace and defence technologies. It also reinforces both companies’ commitment to rapid innovation through industrial collaboration.

FalconWorks, BAE Systems’ advanced research and technology business within its Air sector, will deliver the work. Teams from FalconWorks and TUALCOM will initially identify development opportunities focused on resilient autonomy, enabling rapid concept evaluation before progressing into future programmes.
