Rheinmetall UK and Mercedes-Benz UK have formed a strategic partnership called Team Wolf to support the British Army’s future tactical mobility requirements under the Land Mobility Programme, as per a recent press statement.
The collaboration pairs Mercedes-Benz’s established vehicle technology with Rheinmetall UK’s defence integration and mission-system expertise. Rheinmetall UK’s Telford facility, RBSL, will serve as the Vehicle Integration Centre for Team Wolf, handling systems integration, testing and validation.
Telford already manufactures Boxer vehicles for the British Army, making the new role a natural extension of an established sovereign industrial base. The partners say the arrangement keeps critical integration activity, knowledge and skills in the UK.
Team Wolf is targeting up to 50% UK content, creating opportunities for British suppliers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across engineering, integration and the wider supply chain. Rheinmetall has previously committed to sourcing roughly half its UK tactical-vehicle content from British industry.
Managing Director of Rheinmetall UK Rebecca Richards commented: “Team Wolf is bringing together two organisations with complementary strengths and a shared ambition to deliver an enduring mobility capability for the British Army.” She added that the Telford centre puts “British engineering, integration and skills at the heart of our delivery model.”
CEO and Managing Director at Mercedes-Benz Cars UK Olivier Reppert said the G-Class has represented strength and reliability for more than 45 years, and that Team Wolf brings that foundation into a partnership built for the Army’s future mobility needs.
The partnership reflects a broader push to strengthen UK defence-industrial resilience while drawing on proven commercial vehicle platforms for military use.
