Tiberius Aerospace has moved its Invictus long-range precision strike system from laboratory research into formal engineering test and evaluation, according to a recent press statement. The shift marks a significant step toward fielding the tube-launched weapon for US, UK and allied forces.
A Multi-Domain Weapon
Invictus is a tube-launched, multi-mission system built for integration across several platforms. Its architecture supports launch from vertical launch systems and autonomous vehicles operating on land and at sea. This flexibility gives warfighters more options for delivering long-range precision effects.
Built on Rapid Ramjet Progress
Tiberius Aerospace launched its first ramjet munition, Sceptre, in May 2025. The company recently confirmed successful ramjet ignition during live firing trials in the United States. That pace of development has accelerated Invictus’s transition from exploratory research into a validated engineering programme. Engineers are now testing propulsion, flight performance, guidance, platform integration and manufacturability. Direct-connect testing of the Invictus ramjet engine is already underway at Purdue University’s Zucrow Laboratories. The engine has shown strong operability using Jet-A fuel across all conditions tested so far.
Addressing a Strategic Shortfall
The programme responds to mounting pressure on Western missile stockpiles. The US Army expended much of its ATACMS and Precision Strike Missile inventory during a five-month conflict with Iran. European missile stocks have also come under strain, prompting NATO governments and manufacturers to accelerate production.
Speed, Range and Scale
The Invictus-200 variant pairs a ramjet with an integral booster. It reaches speeds up to Mach 3 and strikes targets up to 200 kilometres away, with 5.5-metre CEP accuracy depending on guidance configuration. A modular, open architecture and 10–15 kilogram payload capacity will let the system adapt to evolving mission requirements.
Chad Steelberg, founder and chief executive of Tiberius Aerospace, commented that formal testing marks a major step toward a deployable capability, adding that Invictus uses the company’s GRAIL platform to maximise combat effect per dollar spent while supporting a broader, more resilient industrial base.
