B.E. Meyers & Co. has secured a contract to deliver 8,936 DAGIR-V1 laser aiming systems to the US Army, backing the service’s small arms fire control and night lethality modernisation effort.
The US Army’s Programme Manager Soldier Lethality (PM SL) issued the award under the Capability Programme Executive – Ground Soldier Systems (CPE-G). The contract forms part of the M7 Surrogate Fire Control Program, with delivery scheduled for Government Fiscal Year (GFY) 2027 through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) programme.
The DAGIR-V1 integrates Near-Infrared (NIR) and visible aiming lasers with an NIR illuminator in a compact, ruggedised aluminium housing. Its 40 mW IR pointer and dual 350 mW Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL)-based illuminators deliver consistent performance across dense photonic environments and high ambient light conditions. Proprietary MINIRVA diode technology underpins sharp beam projection and refined illumination, improving target identification and situational awareness.
The DAGIR series has previously drawn US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) interest. USSOCOM selected the DAGIR-V1 as the LA-30 under the Squad Aiming Laser – Ultra High Power (SAL-UHP) programme and later adopted the DAGIR-V2 under the Miniature Aiming Laser – Ultra High Power (MAL-UHP) contract.
Chief Executive Officer and second-generation owner Matthew Meyers commented: “Following our deliveries of MAWL-X1 systems to the DoW in previous years, we are honoured to continue our support of the US Army with our DAGIR laser system.”
As per a recent press statement, the contract reinforces B.E. Meyers & Co.’s position as a core photonic systems supplier to the US Army’s visual augmentation and next-generation small arms modernisation programmes.
