ARX Robotics UGVs Prove Combat-Ready in Largest Project Convergence Exercise Yet

ARX Robotics UK has demonstrated the operational maturity of its uncrewed ground systems at Project Convergence-Capstone 6 (PC-C6), the largest experiment in the campaign’s history, as per a recent press statement.

Held at the US Army’s National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California, the month-long exercise brought together forces from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Led by the US Army’s 4th Infantry Division, PC-C6 tested more than 100 emerging battlefield technologies at operational scale.

ARX Robotics UK deployed eight GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles alongside the British Army’s Experimentation and Trials Group, 11 Brigade and 3rd Deep Recce Strike Brigade. The platforms ran continuously throughout the exercise, embedded with British soldiers.

Across the trial, GEREON systems carried out reconnaissance, electronic warfare, counter-drone, logistics resupply and casualty evacuation missions. They operated across Fort Irwin’s harsh desert terrain while staying linked to allied command and data networks, with GEREON-generated data feeding into brigade, division and corps-level systems.

The vehicles carried a mix of payloads, including L3Harris’ CORVUS-RAVEN electronic warfare system, MyDefence’s Watchdog counter-drone sensors and Overview’s Podview reconnaissance and targeting system.

ARX Robotics also tested new approaches to field power, including charging GEREON’s control system via a Plasan ATeMM mobile energy platform, and explored integration with the British Army’s new hybrid support vehicle.

Colonel Jim Howard OBE, Commander of the British Army’s Experimentation & Trials Group, commented that the exercise tested how the British Army integrates autonomous systems into land operations within a multinational, corps-level event. He added that this work supports the Chief of the General Staff’s 20-40-40 vision for autonomous systems.

David Roberts, CEO of ARX Robotics UK, commented that PC-C6 showed the company’s systems can operate at scale within a wider allied force. He added that the exercise proved its software-defined platform can integrate rapidly with partner technologies across multiple missions.
